The Wind: The Fray

I can’t speak for the rest of you, but The Fray have helped me get through some tough times. Their music is simply true, deep and emotional. For those who have ever felt alone, in despair or burned, this band will provide you with the lyrics to cope.

So if you haven’t yet listened to their 2012 album Scars and Stories, you need to–it’s another great example of what makes The Fray one of a kind. Between the thoughtful lyrics and real vocals they are incomparable.

A standout track from the 2012 album is titled “The Wind.” It’s about feeling lost in life and, like other lyrical stories written by lead singer Isaac Slade, it takes you on a journey from start to finish.

Sometimes life brings us trials, and these trials may make us feel temporarily misguided, however, we are never alone. God guides us back as our lighthouse amidst the storm, calling us home. Listen to His voice among the others and you will find yourself safe within the chaos.

“The Wind”

NOTE: This song belongs to The Fray

Oh, my God, I think I’m lost at sea

These silent waves are my company

And, I lost the line between the sky and sea

I’m wondering will the wind ever come for me.

Yeah.

‘Cause I don’t know, I don’t know where I am

Can you tell me, will I break or will I bend?

Will the wind ever come again?

I feel the sun coming up, rising from the east

I see the empire falling to her knees

I lost the line between her and me

My troubles are gone if the wind ever comes for me.

Yeah.

‘Cause I don’t know, I don’t know where I am

Can you tell me, will I break or will I bend?

Will the wind ever come again?

I dreamed I found the shoreline

You’re standing there

I dreamed I found you waiting.

You were waiting for me, waiting for me.

I try to kiss the emptiness,

I lost the line between the sky and sea

I feel the sun coming up, coming up, coming up, coming up

And I don’t know, I don’t know where I am

I will break or I will bend

Will the wind ever come again?
